Mark and Mindy Piasecki have five children, Tess, Adam, Quinn, Levon and Isaac, all of whom have special needs, something they both feel strongly about.
“We choose to adopt children with special needs because they need us,” Mindi said. “And we need them.”
Mindi says it’s special, and nothing is more amazing than seeing the first smiles or first footsteps for her kids, who, due to their diagnoses, had very short life expectancies.
The Piasecki family also received a donation in March on behalf of the Fox Valley’s Go Baby Go chapter, which provides modified electric ride-on cars for children who suffer from limited mobility, for both Levi and Isaac.
Isaac requires a kidney transplant, and because of it, Mindi will spend about three months in Milwaukee, away from her home in Neenah, and because of the situation, they’re seeking help finding nurses to take care of their children while they split time home and away.
“We are going to take turns living at the Ronald McDonald House and the hospital with Isaac,” Mindi said. “But also staying at home with Tess, Adam, Quinn and Levon, for however long it takes.”
