GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) – With the ongoing partial government shutdown forcing TSA agents to go without pay for over a month, community members are stepping up to help out again.
At Green Bay Austin Straubel International Airport, travelers have been asked to donate various goods into a basket at security checkpoints, which will become part of Easter baskets for TSA agents and their family members.
Manitowoc educators turn lifelong dreams into story of inclusion
“We have a list of items that would work for an Easter basket, but anything you would typically find the Easter bunny is looking for [is acceptable],” Airport Director Marty Piette said. “It’s a matter of an anonymous person looking for donations to fill these baskets.”
The effort comes as local bakeries and restaurants have recently dropped off food for TSA agents, including Republic Chophouse and Uncle Mike’s Bake Shoppe.
Anybody looking to donate can drop off items at the Delta terminal.
