MILWAUKEE, Wis. (WFRV) – A man from southeastern Wisconsin has been indicted on three federal felonies, including arson and cyberstalking, for allegedly intentionally setting an apartment building on fire in January.
According to the United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Wisconsin, a federal grand jury returned an indictment on March 24, alleging that Dante D. Bracey, Jr. of Milwaukee committed three felonies: arson, cyberstalking, and use of fire to commit a federal felony.
Bracey, Jr., 35, is alleged to have intentionally set fire to a Milwaukee multi-unit residential apartment building on January 10. Authorities also allege that Bracey, Jr., used a phone to cause an adult victim to fear for their life or serious injury, along with ‘substantial’ emotional distress.
Three Wisconsin teens arrested after several weapons recovered during traffic stop
Charges and possible sentencing include:
- Arson
- Mandatory minimum of five years’ imprisonment and a maximum of 20 years’ imprisonment
- Cyberstalking
- Up to five years’ imprisonment
- Use of fire to commit a federal felony
- Mandatory 10 years’ imprisonment, up to life imprisonment; consecutive to any sentence on the Cyberstalking charge
The Milwaukee Police Department and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, & Explosives have investigated the case.
