ASHWAUBENON, Wis. (WFRV) – Hallie Fisch of Suamico is headed to Augusta after a clutch performance at the Drive, Chip and Putt national qualifier hosted at Whistling Straits.
A pair of putts within “gimme” range secured Fisch’s victory over Angelina Chang of Aurora, Ontario, in the Girls 12-13 division. A fan of Nelly Korda, Fisch had previously attempted to qualify for Drive, Chip and Putt three years ago before breaking through this year.

“I was really nervous coming into this, but now I’m really excited,” Fisch said. “It means a lot. I really wanted to go to Augusta.”
Fisch’s connection to golf began almost as soon as she could walk. She first held a club at just 1 1/2 years old in her front yard and has rarely been without one since.
“I just rode along in the cart with my dad at first,” Fisch said.
This was her fourth attempt at the competition and her first time advancing to the penultimate stage of qualifying — a milestone that added to her nerves but ultimately fueled her focus.

Having watched the Masters and Drive, Chip and Putt on television, Fisch now prepares to take part in the event herself and appear on screen.
“I don’t like being in front of the cameras, but I’m going to be excited to go,” Fisch said. “This might be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.”
