GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) – A 31-year-old Greenfield man who was convicted in January of attempted homicide and several other charges over a multi-day jury trial has been sentenced to 25 years in prison.

Court records show that Jaharrie Jelks, who was convicted of a Green Bay stabbing from 2024, was in court while in custody on March 13, a couple of months after he was convicted by a jury.
Jelks was convicted on the following charges:
- 1. Attempted First-Degree Intentional Homicide – Repeater, Use of a Dangerous Weapon
- 25 years in state prison, 20 years of extended supervision
- 2. False Imprisonment – Repeater, Use of a Dangerous Weapon
- One year in local jail, concurrent to count one
- 3. Disorderly Conduct – Repeater, Use of a Dangerous Weapon
- One year in local jail, concurrent to counts one and two
- 4. Bail Jumping – Repeater
- One year in local jail, concurrent to counts 1-3
- 5. Driving or Operating a Vehicle Without Owner’s Consent – Repeater
- One year in local jail, concurrent to counts 1-4
- 6. Armed Robbery with Threat of Force – Repeater
- 20 years in state prison and 15 years of extended supervision, concurrent to all counts

While the charges have separate penalties, the prison time is 25 years with 20 years of extended supervision, as the sentences were concurrent.
It was the second case against Jelks from the December 2024 stabbing incident, after prosecutors refiled charges in July 2025 following a dismissal without prejudice.
