GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) – Governor Tony Evers says Wisconsin could soon become a bigger destination for television and film productions.
He stopped in Green Bay and visited Live X to highlight a new state film office and tax credit aimed to bring more projects to Wisconsin.

The state will offer $5 million a year in tax credits to productions who choose to film here.
“Technology brings people and jobs,” said Gov. Evers. “It helps our economy in the tourism world, and it’s important films across the state are seen across the country.”
State leaders said production companies can bring immediate boosts to local economies, from hiring local workers to visiting hotels and local businesses.
For studios like Live X, a live-streaming company, co-founder and president Corey Behnke said these incentives can help bring more projects to the Midwest.
“It’s important for the state to support broadcast and communications in the larger ecosystem of North America,” Behnke said.
Behnke said laying a foundation for broadcast and film will reveal the ability the Midwest has for more projects.
“The Midwest in general is taken for granted,” Behnke said. “Most of the people who do what we do live in Los Angeles or New York. The fact we broadcast for presidents and Fortune 1000 companies in Green Bay is important.”
Gov. Evers said bringing film to Wisconsin will showcase the state in new ways.

“Everyone knows the Packers, but there’s more fun things to do in Green Bay,” Gov. Evers said.
To qualify for the tax credits, productions must spend at least $50,000 in Wisconsin, and more for larger projects.
