NASHVILLE, Tenn. (NEXSTAR) — Women recognized for strengthening communities across the country were honored this weekend as Nexstar Media Group hosted its annual Remarkable Women national celebration in Nashville.
The three‑day gathering brought together 125 Remarkable Women finalists from 125 communities spanning Nexstar’s 116 local television markets. The women were selected by local stations for their leadership, service and commitment to making a difference in their hometowns.
The Nashville experience marked the culmination of months of local recognition and storytelling, offering finalists the opportunity to connect with one another, reflect on their shared missions and celebrate their collective impact.
The Remarkable Women initiative honors women whose actions inspire others and lead to tangible improvements in their communities. Since the program began in 2020, more than 70,000 women have been nominated nationwide. Nearly 12,000 nominations were submitted in 2026 alone.
The celebration began with arrivals and a welcome event in downtown Nashville, where finalists were greeted by fellow honorees, Nexstar staff, and the Tennessee Titans cheerleaders. Throughout the trip, participants shared their stories, exchanged ideas and formed bonds with women from different regions and backgrounds who share a common purpose.
One of the weekend’s highlights included a songwriters event, where country artist Morgan Myles debuted a new song written specifically in honor of Remarkable Women. The performance served as a tribute to the resilience, leadership and compassion represented in the room.
Saturday’s events leaned into Nashville tradition, including a custom cowgirl hat bar where each finalist designed a hat reflecting her personality. The women also gathered for a hosted lunch at JBJ’s Nashville, a downtown venue known for its music and community involvement, providing space for conversation, reflection and celebration.
The weekend concluded with a formal awards gala, where finalists walked a purple carpet and were honored for their contributions. While individual awards were presented, organizers emphasized that the heart of the evening centered on collective inspiration rather than competition.
The national winner of the Remarkable Women program will be announced later this morning during in a one‑hour special airing on The CW Network, NewsNation and across Nexstar’s local television stations. Nexstar also makes a donation to support and amplify the future work of the 2026 national winner.
As the finalists departed Nashville, many said the experience reinforced their sense of purpose and reminded them they are part of a much larger network of women driving change across the country.
Organizers said the stories shared during the weekend will continue to resonate well beyond Nashville, as local stations bring those narratives back to the communities where each woman’s work began.
