On Wednesday night, a ‘Meet & Greet’ was held with superintendent candidate Michael Hernandez. Hernandez currently serves as the Assistant Superintendent of Secondary Schools for the Appleton Area School District, and he spoke about his vision and hopes for the future of the Green Bay School District should he be given the job.
After the superintendent position opened up following the resignation of Claude Tiller and the impending retirement of Vicki Bayer, Hernandez says he’ll bring stability to the position.
Visibility is the sign of a true leader, being able to listen and learn, and I believe we will be able to build these relationships, and my hope is to retire here.

On Thursday, a ‘Meet & Greet’ was held with superintendent candidate Michael Trimberger Jr. Trimberger Jr. currently serves as the Superintendent for the Random Lake School District, and he spoke about his plans for the Green Bay School District if he were given the job.
Trimberger Jr. also spoke on his key area of focus being connecting with the community and he spoke about the possibility of going from being responsible for 700 students in Random Lake, to 18,000 students in Green Bay.
What the last nine years have been for me is taking an idea, putting it in a laboratory of 700 students, and then creating structures, making mistakes, but quickly fixing them so we can actually have turnaround for the students.
