Kutska and five co-workers were convicted in Brown County in 1995 of being party to Monfils’ murder at a Green Bay paper mill. Monfils’ body was discovered at the bottom of a pulp vat.
Prosecutors argued the men retaliated against Monfils after he reported that Kutska had stolen an extension cord. All six were sentenced to life in prison with the possibility of parole.

All six men maintained their innocence throughout the case.
