GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) – One of the most important things about the media industry is having connections, so make sure to build and maintain as many as you can, which is exactly what happened on Saturday at Lambeau Field.
Broadcast students got a chance to meet with members of the local media, including WFRV staff, inside the Lambeau Field Atrium, with plenty of activities and booths from media groups all over the state.

The event, hosted by the Wisconsin Broadcasters Association (WBA), brought high school and college students in to speak with media industry experts to learn more about the various roles available, from sales to engineering to online to on-air talent.
WBA President Michelle Vetterkind said it’s the third year in a row that the event has been at Lambeau, but it is far from the first of its kind.
“We’ve had a student forum for about 30 years, but we moved it to Lambeau and I don’t know if we’ll ever move it,” Vetterkind said.
Vetterkind said it’s an honor to host the event because of the relevance of local news, but that it’s also important to ensure it stays that way and that it’s not just about being on the air; it also allows the students to learn about every aspect of the media world.
“We have many interested in sports, but being here at Lambeau allows us to expose students to all facets of the industry, which we’re really proud of,” Vetterkind said.
