WAUPACA, Wis. (WFRV) – A home in Waupaca sustained ‘extensive damage’ following a garage fire on Wednesday afternoon.
According to a release from the Waupaca Area Fire District, crews were called to reports of a detached garage fire on Elm Street in Waupaca around 3:50 p.m. on February 25.
When crews first arrived, they were met with heavy smoke and flames coming from the home’s detached garage. Flames had already begun to spread to the nearby home.

It was noted that no one was inside the home at the time of the fire; however, three cats were found and safely removed.
Authorities say the residence sustained extensive damage, and no injuries were reported.
Crews were at the scene for roughly three hours.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
