BROWN COUNTY, Wis. (WFRV) – Through the 12 Months, 12 Steps initiative, Brown County Public Health is working to encourage families and individuals to build an at-home emergency preparedness kit.
These kits are exactly what they sound like, an important and quickly accessible package of items that can be critical in an emergency, for example, food, water, personal hygiene items and more.
Give BIG Green Bay 2026 ends with record fundraising total
The 12 Months, 12 Steps program goes for a full year, as Brown County Public Health officials work with local stores to feature a specific emergency kit item each month as follows:
- January—Storage Bin or Tote
- February—Canned Goods and Can Opener
- March—Three gallons of water per person
- April—Snacks
- May—Personal Hygiene
- June—Paper Products (napkins, towels, toilet paper)
- July—Disposable utensils, cups and plates
- August—Flashlight with batteries
- September—Non-Prescription meds (Tylenol, Benadryl)
- October—Hand Sanitizer, Hand Wipes
- November—Lighters, Candles
- December—First Aid Kit
