TREMPEALEAU COUNTY, Wis. (WFRV) – The Wisconsin DNR is currently responding to a reported manure spill in the western part of the state, with runoff impacting the area.
A release from the DNR states that the manure spill happened in Trempealeau County and that runoff has impacted two unnamed tributaries to Beaver Creek.
In response to recent concerns on February 23, staff conducted a site visit and reportedly saw manure running off snow-covered farm fields near the intersection of Oak Ridge Drive and Linden Road in the Town of Gale.

DNR officials gathered dead fish, including brook trout, from the impacted tributary streams on February 24.
“DNR staff are on site and working closely with local conservation staff to monitor the situation as the farm works to address the discharge,” the release stated.
