GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) – Many Northeast Wisconsin homeowners flocked to the Resch Expo this weekend to learn more about what businesses are offering for home renovations and improvements.
It’s an opportunity for not just homeowners, but for small businesses as well.
“It’s awesome to help some of the small businesses, and there are a lot of businesses with over 100 here,” said Blue Green Events Event Designer Dakota Hicks, “And then it’s really great for attendees to come and take and meet with different people, compare different products, different prices, make it a hands-on feel of what’s up looks like, what the installation that you can actually talk to a human.”

Nowadays, you can go online to purchase things such as doors or windows.
The Green Bay Home Show allows people to see what they are buying and build those connections.
“Our biggest competitors are the internet. You know, everyone can look all right. I need windows on any general day of the week,” said Hicks, “But to meet with the actual professionals, get those specific insights, and have questions answered is still a necessity in the area.”
For many homeowners who attended the event this weekend, it was all about building connections with businesses they can work with in the future.
“I think it’s important because you can kind of make that human connection that you may not get online, and just get your free quote,” said Kacie Whitt from Green Bay, “Like online or through apps and stuff. You can ask more detailed questions than getting more specific answers than just like a frequently asked questions page online.”

Making memories through arts and crafts, trying out a golf simulator, or even getting some sweets, gives everyone lasting connections through the home show.
“It’s honestly just good memories and, like, things that it’s long-lasting impact. So if you ever do need something in the future,” said Hicks, ‘It just builds more connections than scrolling online and ads and things like that.”
The Green Bay Home Show will return next year, with dates to be announced later.
