(WFRV) – After a successful Sunday of sturgeon spearing in northeast Wisconsin, the season will come to a close on Monday afternoon.

Wisconsin DNR officials say that 36 lake sturgeon were harvested on Sunday, bringing the Winnebago System total to 202 juvenile females, 662 adult females and 660 males.
After 19 adult femails harvested Sunday, the Winnebago System-wide harvest cap was reached, making Monday at 1 p.m. the official close to the season.

The largest sturgeon harvested on Sunday was a 138.1-pound, 80.3-inch female harvested by Trevor Theyerl.
