(WFRV) – The unseasonably warm weather and surprising rainfall prompted the lowest harvest total of the sturgeon spearing season thus far in 2026, according to the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR).
The DNR says spearers harvested just 34 sturgeon today, 17 of which were males, with the remainder being females (three juvenile, 14 adult). Officials say the Downtown Oshkosh station registered the most with nine total.

The largest harvest was David Conradt’s 106.2-pound, 73.6-inch female, which was the second 100+ pound harvest of the day. Conradt registered his catch at the Neenah station.
