OSHKOSH, Wis. (WFRV) – The 20-year-old Fond du Lac man charged with 1st-degree reckless homicide for a fatal 2025 stabbing at Menominee Park in Oshkosh pleaded guilty in court on Wednesday.
Court records show that Daunte Riley, who was initially set for an evidentiary hearing following his arraignment in December, had a February 18 plea hearing added to the court docket on February 11.

The initial charge was for 1st-Degree Intentional Homicide; however, Riley and his attorneys’ guilty plea was for 1st-Degree Reckless Homicide, a Class B felony. A misdemeanor use of a dangerous weapon charge was dismissed; however, it will be read in at sentencing.
The case stems from a large fight that broke out on July 5 at Menominee Park in Oshkosh around 11 p.m., when Riley stabbed a 27-year-old man over an argument concerning the victim’s cousin.
A jury trial had been scheduled for September 2026, but has since been removed, and a calendar call hearing is set for April 23 at 8 a.m. with sentencing on May 7 at 8:30 a.m.
