BYRON, Wis. (WFRV) – A woman was pronounced dead at the scene of a fire at a Fond du Lac County campground on Sunday morning.
According to the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office, first responders were called to the Breezy Hill Campground just before 11 a.m. on February 15 for reports of a camper on fire.
Initial information, deputies say, indicated that a man and three children were able to safely get out of the camper; however, a woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

The victim was described as a 35-year-old woman from Fond du Lac.
The incident remains under investigation by the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office. The cause of the fire and the manner of death have not been determined.
Deputies did note that the fire is believed to have started in the camper’s kitchen area.
The man and three kids suffered non-life-threatening injuries and were treated at the scene.
