LITTLE CHUTE, Wis. (WFRV) – Fire crews and hazmat teams were called to a Little Chute business on Friday night after 100 pounds of ammonia were released during a leak.
According to a release from the Little Chute Fire Department, crews were called to the 3000 block of Freedom Road around 7:20 p.m. for reports of an ammonia leak. The leak was reported by someone in the building.

Crews arrived and confirmed the ammonia leak while estimating that roughly 100 pounds of ammonia were released.
One employee was treated at the scene and taken to a local hospital for evaluation.
The Appleton Fire Haz Mat Team monitored air quality and declared the building safe an hour and a half after the initial response.
