“We have 7 call ducks, and they are our family pets and they are missing,” pet owner Kylie Tate said. “We miss them.”

The ducks have free ranged Tate’s yard for the last year, never leaving.
“They’ve never left, it’s just not understandable,” Tate said.
The other pets the family owns that live outside are still at home.
“We have 4 chickens that are still here, running around fine,” Tate said.
Many of the call ducks were hatched at the residence and raised from eggs, something Tate’s daughter said was an instant connection.

“I laid my eyes on a call duck, and I fell in love,” Peyton Faskeoo said.
The ducks’ names include: Bluey, Feta, Biscuit, Pepe, Omelet, Rockey, and Cleo. Tate said all seven play an important role in their family.
“They are very excited to see us,” Tate said. “When you come in the driveway, they sound their alarm. So you always know where they are.”
Because they are pets, the family worries about their safety.
“They are domestic ducks; they will probably not survive well in the wild,” Tate said.
Now they are asking the community to look in their backyard, ditches and nearby water to help bring these call ducks home.

Tate said the silence has echoed since they disappeared.
“It’s really quiet,” Tate said. “They are really, really noisy, every afternoon, they are always here making noise, so [now] our yard is really quiet.”
