APPLETON, Wis. (WFRV) – The 68th annual GRAMMY Awards on February 1 saw a lot of big names win big prizes, and two of the award winners are coming right back to northeast Wisconsin.
Lawrence University professors Michael Clayville and Erin Lesser, members of a 22-person band, Alarm Will Sound, earned a GRAMMY as part of the group for the Best Chamber Music/Small Ensemble Performance Award.

Clayville expressed excitement for the award, citing the values from the University as a major part of their work, also calling it an honor to represent Lawrence at the GRAMMYs.
“The values we carry from Lawrence—artistic rigor, collaboration, and curiosity—are central to everything we do,” Clayville said via the release.
The GRAMMY win was for the band’s recording of Donnacha Dennehy’s Land of Winter.l It was also nominated for Best Contemporary Classical Composition.
