GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) – As it looks to expand its charitable impact, the Green Bay Packers Foundation has announced a new four-year cycle for its annual grant program, with applications for 2026 grants now open through April 1.
The Packers Foundation awards grants each year to hundreds of Wisconsin nonprofits that support critical community programs and serve those in need. In 2025, the Foundation distributed $1.5 million to 395 civic and charitable organizations statewide.

In previous years, grant applications opened in the spring and awards were distributed in late fall, with each year of a three-year cycle focused on a different need area. However, Foundation leaders say increasing demand from nonprofits prompted a shift in the program’s structure.
Beginning in 2026, the Packers Foundation will move to a four-year grant cycle running from 2026 through 2029. Applications will now be accepted annually from February through April, allowing additional time for volunteer Packers Foundation Trustees to review and evaluate submissions.
For the 2026 grant year, funding will be awarded to organizations supporting programs or projects focused on animal welfare, homelessness, and human services.
Eligible organizations may submit only one grant application during each four-year cycle and are encouraged to apply in the year that best aligns with their program’s focus area. Only organizations that meet the Foundation’s established criteria will be considered.

Grant awards typically range from $3,000 to $8,000, though recipients may receive less than the amount requested. Final grant amounts depend on the number of applications received and the total funding approved for distribution.
All applications will be reviewed by the Packers Foundation Trustees, with grant recipients expected to be finalized in July. A public announcement of awardees is planned for August or September.
