GOTHAM, Wis. (WFRV) – Authorities in southwestern Wisconsin say two people were injured following a home explosion.
According to the Richland County Sheriff’s Office, on January 24, around 8:30 p.m., reports came in about a loud explosion. A homeowner on Needle Lane thought their neighbor’s house was damaged from an unknown blast.

Deputies got to the scene and found a residence that was ‘completely destroyed’ from an apparent explosion. Two people were inside the home during the explosion, authorities said.
They were sent to a hospital for significant burns and injuries.
One of the homeowners thought they smelled gas around 5 p.m. coming from the house. Following the explosion, they went to a vehicle to stay warm.
Authorities say there is no foul play suspected, but the investigation is ongoing.
