MANITOWOC, Wis. (WFRV) – Maritime Metro Transit in Manitowoc is experiencing mechanical issues due to extreme cold temperatures, prompting service reductions and a temporary shutdown.
Officials say four routes switched to hourly service Friday until 3 p.m. Routes 2 and 6 are operating at the top of the hour, while routes 3 and 4 are running at the bottom of the hour. Routes 1 and 5 continue to operate on their regular schedules.

Due to ongoing mechanical issues and dangerous weather conditions that make waiting for buses unsafe, all transit service will shut down at 3 p.m. Friday.

Bus service has also been canceled for Saturday, Jan. 24. Officials anticipate normal operations will resume on Monday, Jan. 26.
