GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) – With extreme cold forecasted to hit the State of Wisconsin, several Green Bay businesses will be closed and several events will be canceled on Friday.
Local Five’s Storm Team Five says Friday will be the coldest day Wisconsinites have seen in years, as the brisk wind and falling temperatures will present a dangerous level of cold with windchills forecasted to be as low as -35 to -50 degrees.

Due to these extreme and dangerous temperatures, the following closures and event cancellations are taking place throughout Green Bay:
Closures:
- Green Bay Botanical Garden
- Closed January 23–25 and will reopen Monday, January 26.
- Titletown
- Thursday, January 22 – Tubing closed on Ariens Hill, skating on Hy-Vee Plaza will remain open
- Friday, January 23 – Skating on Hy-Vee Plaza and tubing on Ariens Hill closed, 46 Below to have adjusted hours of 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
- Wisconsin Humane Society
- All locations closed Friday, January 23, will remain open only for stray intakes and owner surrenders.
- Jake’s Pizza
- Closed on Friday, January 23, for “the safety of our staff and customers.”
- NEW Zoo & Adventure Park
- Closed on Friday, January 23, due to the extreme cold.
- Green Bay Moose Lodge
- Closed on Friday, January 23., including social quarters
- Fish Fry canceled
Cancellations:
- Winterfest on Broadway
- The event for Saturday, January 24 canceled for the safety of event attendees, staff, vendors, and animals.
- Laundry Love
- The event scheduled for Friday, January 23, is canceled.
- Luminary Walk at Baird Creek
- The event originally scheduled for 4:30 p.m. on January 23 is canceled for the safety of the events participants, volunteers, and staff.
- Candlelit hikes
- The candlelit hikes at the Barkhausen Waterfowl Preserve in Suamico scheduled for January 23 and January 24 are canceled.
