(WFRV) – Friday is expected to be the coldest day northeast Wisconsin has experienced in nearly seven years, prompting several school districts to cancel classes due to dangerous weather conditions.
Forecasts show wind chills could drop between minus 35 and minus 50 degrees, creating life-threatening cold for students and staff traveling to and from school.
EXTREME COLD WARNING: Arctic air drops in tonight through Saturday
Multiple districts have already announced closures for Friday, including the Green Bay Area Public School District.
Additional districts are continuing to monitor conditions, and more cancellations are possible as the extreme cold approaches.
