APPLETON, Wis. (WFRV) – Visitors to the Hearthstone Historic House Museum can once again step back in time as the annual Victorian Christmas experience returned today in Appleton.
This year’s theme, “Naturally Yours,” features decorations made from natural materials, similar to what English-speaking families used in the mid-Victorian era. Museum leaders say every ornament and display is handcrafted each year by volunteers.

Local Five received a preview of the open house, where each room features a unique holiday style tied to Victorian traditions.
“We have stations around the museum to tell you about things. It’s of course after dark and all of the lights, all the Christmas lights, are lit up. All of our original electroliers from 18 to 82 are lit as well as some of the historical lamps,” said Lynne Phillips, Hearthstone Museum curator.
Museum staff say guests can enjoy the decorations during daytime tours, special events, or at evening open houses held Fridays and Saturdays throughout December.
Tickets and details are available on the Hearthstone Museum website.
