The Door County Sheriff’s Office reported that the incident occurred on Friday night on State Highway 42 while it was dark out and that the vehicle in question was missing a driver’s side headlight; however, that wasn’t the most abnormal part.
According to the post, the solution to the vehicle’s missing headlight? It was a handheld flashlight placed and pointed forward as a substitute.
The Sheriff’s Office said it was an attempt to increase visibility, but using a flashlight is neither safe nor legal as a replacement for proper headlights.
