ELM GROVE, Wis. (WFRV) – A southeastern Wisconsin officer was injured during an incident on Wednesday when a man with an active warrant ran from a traffic stop.
Officers with the Elm Grove Police Department say that a 20-year-old Milwaukee man was pulled over in the 12200 block of West Bluemound Road around 9:05 p.m. on December 3.

During the stop, officers learned that the driver, Navario Spencer, had an active Kenosha County warrant. But before officers could take Spencer into custody, he ran into nearby properties and through deep snow, leading to a foot pursuit with officers.
A perimeter was then set up, and a K9 track began. The Brookfield and Wauwatosa Police Departments assisted in the tracking of Spencer.
Shortly after, Spencer was found on West Potter Road and taken into custody without further incident.

Although it was noted that one officer suffered an injury during the incident.
Spencer was taken to the Waukesha County Jail on a charge of Resisting – Causing Injury to an Officer, and on the active warrant.
On Thursday, Spencer appeared in court, and a $5,000 signature bond was set. Court records show that a preliminary hearing has been set for January 5.
