APPLETON, Wis. (WFRV) – A 21-year-old woman was arrested for OWI and multiple other felonies after she allegedly ran over an Appleton police officer during a fight in a parking lot early Saturday morning.
Officers with the Appleton Police Department say that they were called to an argument that was happening in a parking lot near South Walnut and West Lawrence Street around 2:40 a.m. on November 15.

As officers tried to make contact with the 21-year-old Little Chute woman who was behind the wheel while parked in a spot, she allegedly sped towards a group of people in the parking lot.
Officers say she then directed the vehicle towards two police officers, one of whom was unable to get out of the way. The officer was knocked to the ground, and his legs were reportedly run over by the suspect.
The woman, later identified as Katrina Kitzman, left the scene but was quickly taken into custody after a brief pursuit.
Kitzman was taken to the Outagamie County Jail on the following charges:
- Felony 1st Degree Recklessly Endangering Safety
- Felony Eluding
- Felony Battery to Law Enforcement
- OWI 1st Causing Injury
- Misdemeanor resisting arrest
The injured officer was taken to a local hospital for treatment. He has been released.
