RACINE, Wis. (WFRV) – Three men in Wisconsin were arrested in connection with a homicide that officials believe led to a retaliatory, gang-related murder two days later.
Shawano County homicide suspect identified, charges recommended
The Racine Police Department reported that all involved parties are from Racine, and that one of the homicides was potentially in retaliation for the first.
The following men were arrested:
- 26-year-old Isaiah McGlorn
- 25-year-old Chihene Davis
- 24-year-old Zharon Smith
The first homicide occurred on November 1 shortly after 4 a.m. in the 400 block of 10th Street in Racine, with the victim identified as 26-year-old Cier Tye-Pearson. The second occurred two days later when 25-year-old Jaquon Calhoun was fatally shot inside the Chicken Palace restaurant.
Officials with the Racine Police Department confirmed in the release that detectives believe Calhoun’s death was targeted retaliation for the shooting death of Tye-Pearson. Both are being investigated as gang/group-related.
Major crimes investigators reportedly obtained the search warrants for the three arrests in the homicide of Tye-Pearson, arresting McGlorn and Davis on Thursday during simultaneous warrantswhile Smith was arrested on Friday in Caledonia.
The arrests were on the following charges:
- Isaiah McGlorn & Chihene Davis
- 1st-degree Intentional Homicide
- Attempted 1st-degree Intentional Homicide
- Felon in possession of a firearm
- Felony bail jumping (multiple counts)
- Zharon Smith
- 1st-degree Intentional Homicide
- Party to a Crime
- Attempted 1st-degree Intentional Homicide
- Party to a crime
- Misdemeanor bail jumping
- 1st-degree Intentional Homicide
Officials are continuing to investigate the homicides, as Chief of Police Alexander Ramirez sent a stern message surrounding the incidents.
“If you choose to do harm to our community, we will find you. We will arrest you. You will face the full consequences of your actions,” Chief Ramirez said via the release.
