LITTLE CHUTE, Wis. (WFRV) – For nearly a century, The Heiting Place in Little Chute has stood as a cornerstone of the Fox Valley’s storied supper club scene, a gathering spot where generations have come together for Friday fish fries, family dinners, and friendly conversation.
Now, new owners Priscila Benacio and Alexandro Karavacilis are adding their own flavor to the beloved establishment while keeping its deep-rooted Wisconsin charm alive.
The couple officially took over the restaurant in July, becoming only the third owners in its long history. After years in the food truck industry, they were drawn to Little Chute by the opportunity to preserve a local landmark while introducing new culinary ideas.
“This is the last supper club in Little Chute,” said Karavacilis. “It’s been a supper club for 90 years, and we are the third owners. We took over in July, and it has so much history.”
Benacio and Karavacilis say the transition from food trucks to a full-scale restaurant has been both rewarding and humbling. For them, The Heiting Place isn’t just a business, it’s a new beginning and a chance to be part of the community.
“We needed a home base in Wisconsin,” said Benacio. “This gives us a place to put down some roots.”
Inside the restaurant, visitors will find familiar touches, cozy lighting, classic décor, and the same friendly atmosphere regulars have come to love. But they’ll also notice some updates to the menu. The new owners have expanded offerings to appeal to a wider range of tastes while staying true to the traditional supper club spirit.
“We still have the ribeye steak, tenderloins, and the fish fry on Friday, and on Friday, we will have different fish options also,” said Karavacilis. “I want to bring more pasta dishes and Greek dishes to have the supper club remain the same, but with a twist to help bring in a new crowd too.”
Patrons say the difference is already noticeable. Many have praised the warm hospitality and personal touch Benacio and Karavacilis bring to every meal.
“Their customer service has been out of this world,” said Todd Beaster, a longtime customer from Little Chute. “They go the extra mile to make sure that the food that they serve and the drinks they are making, the overall experience is a good time here. They have been going the extra mile.”
For Beaster and his family, accessibility has also been an important factor in choosing where to dine. The Heiting Place’s inclusive setup allows everyone, including his father, to enjoy the supper club experience comfortably.
“There are a lot of supper clubs that we usually go to that are unfortunately not wheelchair accessible,” said Beaster. “It’s very important for him to be able to get around and go to places we enjoy going to.”
As they settle into their new roles, Benacio and Karavacilis say their focus is on community connection and continuing the legacy that’s made The Heiting Place a local favorite for generations.
“I know this is the last supper club here, so we really want to reach out to the community and make sure everyone stops in for a drink and to try some food,” they said.
Located at 1101 W. North Ave. in Little Chute, The Heiting Place is open Tuesday through Sunday from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. for lunch, and from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. for dinner, keeping the supper club tradition alive one plate at a time.
