OSHKOSH, Wis. (WFRV) – A man’s body was found in Lake Winnebago after officials responded to a report of suspicious items and clothing floating offshore.
One dead after air tank explodes at Door County resort & campground, investigation
The Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office reports that at 11:32 a.m. on Saturday, deputies were sent to the Mill Street Boat Launch in Oshkosh for the report.
Officials were told that the items were floating about 50 feet from the shore southeast of the Fox River’s mouth. Deputies launched a boat on Lake Winnebago to inspect the items.
Witnesses rescue driver from Oconto River after SUV goes into waters
According to the release, deputies arrived and confirmed it was the body of a man, who was immediately pronounced dead.
Officials say that the investigation is active and that his identity is not being revealed at this time.
