APPLETON, Wis. (WFRV) – It was a day of celebration at Fox Valley Technical College on Tuesday, as the college marked the official completion of its $2.1 million Dental program expansion and opened its doors for the largest community open house of the year.
The new dental facilities at FVTC’s Appleton campus add six more treatment chairs, bringing the total to 18, and include a new lab with 12 dental simulators. The upgrades were funded through a state grant and a $170,000 contribution from the Delta Dental of Wisconsin Foundation.

Construction began in January and wrapped up in July. College leaders say the expansion will help address the growing need for dental professionals across Wisconsin, where 34 counties are experiencing dental health worker shortages.

Following the ribbon-cutting, hundreds of visitors took part in FVTC’s annual Open House. The free, family-friendly event featured food trucks, hands-on demos, and tours of the college’s programs, including trucking, cybersecurity, culinary, aviation, and public safety.
Visitors also had the chance to try flight and truck simulators, explore FVTC’s newly remodeled learning spaces, and meet instructors and students.
College officials say the open house remains one of their best opportunities to connect with future students, and give the community an inside look at programs shaping Wisconsin’s workforce.
