SUN PRAIRIE, Wis. (WFRV) – A 34-year-old woman in Wisconsin was arrested for a second OWI while also driving with two children in the car after she reportedly drove through a closed garage.
The Sun Prairie Police Department reported that officers responded to a residence on Hart Road after 11:30 p.m. on Wednesday for a report that a vehicle had crashed through a garage and into a nearby wooded area.
Officers investigating the incident say that 34-year-old Megan Maier of Sun Prairie had placed two kids into the vehicle, which was in a closed garage, while she was under the influence of drugs.
A man reportedly accompanied the three inside, and Maier drove through the closed garage door, extensively damaging the vehicle and home, before stopping in a wooded area near U.S. 151.
According to the release, Maier bit a police officer on the hand while trying to arrest her; however, the officer has since been released from the hospital with a full recovery expected.
The two children were injured and hospitalized as a result; one required stitches on their face.

Maier was arrested with the following charges being referred:
- Operating While Intoxicated, Causing Injury – Second Offense
- Operating While Intoxicated With a Minor Under 16
- Three counts of Second-Degree Recklessly Endangering Safety
- Battery to a Law Enforcement Officer
- Resisting an Officer
Officials say the children have been placed under care after the incident.
