GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) – Dozens of Franklin Middle School staff members took to the streets of Green Bay today for their annual Welcome Walk.
About 45 teachers and staff went door to door, greeting students and families ahead of the new school year. The event is meant to help reconnect with students in a personal way before classes begin.
How to head back to school without breaking the bank
The tradition also comes one week before the school’s open house, when students visit the building to meet staff and get ready for the year ahead.
Even if they’re not gonna say it they miss school, and they’re excited to get back. They build really strong connections with our teachers and staff and with that little extra personal touch of us coming to them. It’s just great to see their smiles at the end of a really nice summer.
