BELOIT, Wis. (WFRV) – Authorities in Wisconsin say a 7-year-old boy has died at the hospital after being hit by a vehicle Tuesday afternoon.
According to a release from the Beloit Police Department, officers responded at 4:51 p.m. to Prairie Avenue near Summit Avenue after the boy was hit by a vehicle.

Officials say the 7-year-old was taken to a local hospital before being med-flighted to UW in Madison, where he later died as a result of his injuries.
The driver of the vehicle who hit the boy stayed on scene and is cooperating with authorities as they continue to investigate the incident.
