EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WFRV) – Police in Wisconsin arrested a man on Friday after he caused a car crash and fled from the scene, causing multiple area schools to go into a hold.
The Eau Claire Police Department reported that 47-year-old Leo Lacy was the suspect involved in an investigation into an incident where Lacy allegedly threatened a person at gunpoint.

Officers were searching for Lacy when they found a vehicle associated with him and surveyed it from a distance. Around 12:20 p.m., officers saw Lacy returning to the vehicle and tried to stop him; however, he fled, and the pursuit was ended quickly due to the time and traffic conditions.
A crash nearby was reported shortly after, and officers learned Lacy had fled from one of the vehicles. He was seen running from the intersection into a neighborhood. Schools were notified by officials to go on hold within minutes.

Multiple agencies responded to assist in the search as Lacy was believed to be armed and dangerous. He was located in a garage and arrested shortly before 2 p.m., with a loaded handgun and magazine recovered nearby.
