“Near To The Wild Heart Of Life” is the newest single and title track from the highly anticipated third album from the Vancouver duo, Japandroids. The collection will be out on January 27th via Anti- and it is the follow-up to their 2012 sophomore album, “Celebration Rock.”

Regarding the writing process for the record, singer and guitarist Brian King explains, “In some ways, we’re approaching this like it’s our very first record. We’re removing all the self-imposed rules that led to the songs and the sound of our whole career up until now. When you do that, you can try anything. With this album, the idea of what intensity means is evolving. It doesn’t necessarily mean screaming or jumping around or flailing about or being really loud or playing really fast.”

Japandroids were first formed in Vancouver, British Columbia in 2006. Consisting of Brian King (guitar & vocals) and David Prowse (drums & vocals), the band rose to prominence following the release of their debut album “Post-Nothing” in 2009.
